Intensive Hair Conditioner

If your hair needs an emergency intensive conditioning, try this recipe:

1 x teaspoon of apple cider vinegar (make sure it says apple cider vinegar!)

3 x egg whites

2 x tablespoons olive oil

Method:

1.  Mix these ingredients together, and rub this mixture into your hair, then wrap your hair with plastic wrap, or a shower cap.

2.  Wait for at least 1/2 hour (30 minutes) and then shampoo like you usually do! Your hair will have a nice glow

3.  This is a great conditioner, just make sure you have the time to do this, and your hair will shine and look healthy and conditioned.

Perfect for Hair that has seen way to many power tools!  Hair dryers, curling irons, straighteners and everything in between are very hard on your hair.  Plus if you use a lot of products, they tend to build up in your hair over time.

The apple cider vinegar intensive hair conditioning will cut through those built up products.

Pamper Yourself

Pick a day where you can pamper yourself, maybe a manicure or use a foot soak after you have put your vinegar formula in your hair.  Use a shower cap and then enjoy a good foot soak while you wait and a cup of herbal tea.

Treat yourself to a bright and colorful shower cap, (rinse the cap after use and let dry)

The above intensive hair conditioner homemade formula is affordable and quick to make.

Put Together a Spa Kit

This way you can have the things you need right at your finger tips.  Find a nice spa or toiletry bag, or make your own, and keep a bottle of the apple cider vinegar, a small bottle of olive oil, measuring spoons, the shower cap, and manicure or pedicure supplies.

This way all you need to do is add the eggs, you will not have to go searching for your supplies.

Apple Cider Vinegar has many uses, so you may want to keep a bottle for the general household and then a special one for you.

How Do I Remove Dried Concrete From My Hands?

If you work with concrete for your job, or just doing jobs around the house, it can be hard to remove dried concrete from your hands.

I personally end up with everything on my clothes and my hands.

Obviously the first line of defense is to wear protective gloves and goggles, but if you already have it on your hands, then try this process:

Even though you may wear gloves, you still end up with concrete residue, and this is hard on your skin, irritating eczema, drying your skin, making your skin red and more.

Vinegar Neutralizes!

Before you scrub your hands raw, try this method:

1.  Rinse right away with cool water (preferably outside so as not to clog your house drains with concrete residue!)  to get off the chunks and thicker patches rubbing your hands ever so lightly to help lift them.  Do not scrub.

2.  Use a PH neutral soap and gently wash your hands and rinse. (If you don't have any of this ph neutral soap continue to the vinegar step, you want to neutralize the damaging effects of the cement right away)

3.  Pour white vinegar liberally over your hands or have someone else do this, and gently rub your hands together, the vinegar will help to neutralize any cement residue left on your hands.  Rinse with cool water.

4.  Repeat the Vinegar step again and then rinse.

5.  Gently pat with a towel but mostly let them air dry so as not to irritate them further.  Do not use any creams until you know all the cement is off your hands or it will trap the residue on your skin and cause irritation.

Removing Dried Concrete from Clothes

If it has not already dried rock hard, you can rinse your clothes under the outside tap (don't do this indoors or it will clog your sink drains) with cool water to get off most of the chunks and a scrub brush.

If it has dried, take a scrub brush and under cool water scrub off gently any chunks.

Soak in this combination:

  • 1 x tablespoon table salt
  • 1 x cup of white vinegar
  • cool water

Once you have removed the chunks and any thickness with a brush, you can now soak the cement stained clothes in a bucket with the above ingredients, this will help to loosen the stain.

Once all obvious concrete or cement stains are gone from the clothes, then you can launder as usual.

Cleaning Rusty Tools

Do you have rusty tools? Possibly tools you left outside over the winter? Or maybe they are being stored in a slightly damp area?

I always try to get tools away, especially garden tools before the winter, but it doesn't always work out..

My grandpa used to spend hours putting an "oil finish" on the garden tools to keep the rust off over the winter.  But I am not that organized!

So, if you are now stuck cleaning rusty tools, try this:

Wire brush any larger chunks of rust and dirt off(especially garden tools)

Large bottle of white vinegar.

1.  If the tools are smaller, then you can simply place the metal part of the tool into a cup or bucket of white vinegar for a few hours or overnight.

2.  The vinegar reacts with the rust, and you will need to wipe off the rusty paste that is left behind.  You may need to repeat this step with a fresh batch of vinegar, but you will be surprised at just how quickly this works without having to scrub with nasty chemical cleaners.

3.  This is a great way to revive old tools you got for cheap in a garage sale too!

4.  If you have larger items, then you can soak a sponge with the white vinegar and then wipe the metal and let it sit on the metal for a few hours and then wipe off the pasty grunge that is left.

Vinegar has all kinds of great uses

You can get salt stains off of car mats, and you can get cement off your hands, and at the same time create an awesome hair conditioner.  There are so many uses.  My grandparents used it all the time, because they didn't have access to chemical cleaners like we do now.  They made all their own cleaners using household items such as vinegar.

Check out this book with many uses for this affordable ingredient that can be used on food, on our skin and at the same time give dirt, rust and grime a run for the money.

Vinegar is also more enviromentally friendly and gentle.  So stop breathing in those cleaner fumes and check out the uses for this amazing ingredient.

Too busy?  You can purchase white vinegar online for a good price.
